Tulum & Xel-Há Tour

8:30am-5pm, Bottle of water for Tulum; food and beverages included at Xel-Há, mild-moderate activity

Tulum dates from the post-classic period and is the only Mayan settlement ever discovered to be completely surrounded by a wall and constructed alongside the sea. Located an hour south of the resort, it sits on an incredibly beautiful Caribbean beach. Tulum is small, but offers some incredible insight into the life of the Maya. Up until the 1960’s, the only way to get to Tulum was by boat. Now it is one of the Maya world most visited sites. During the ride there, a guide will explain the interesting Mayan Culture, and our guided visit at the ruins will last 75 minutes. The main structure at the site is The Castle, a pyramid-like building crowned by a temple, which commands magnificent views of the Caribbean Sea. The site contains remnants of approximately 60 structures. Tulum also now features a stairway down to a nice section of beach should you want to go for a refreshing dip!

Xel-Há is one of nature’s perfect creations and a paradise for nature lovers. The Mayans called it Xel-Há which means “the place where water is born”. This extraordinary place is formed by a combination of inlets, lagoons, cenotes, and caves that are fed by the sea and underground fresh water springs and rivers, turning Xel-Há into the world’s largest aquarium. Swim or snorkel in the inlet, peacefully navigate the river, sunbathe, laze in a hammock, explore the cenotes, discover ancient Mayan murals, be surrounded by fish, birds, butterflies, iguanas, and macaws in the way nature intended.  (Distance from hotel: 60 minutes)

Optional Activities at Individuals’ Cost:  Swim with Dolphins / Snuba Cenote / Manatee Encounter / Spa Xel-Há / Zip-Bike Xel-Há / Adrenalina Xel-Há (Speedboat) / Stingray Encounter

Included:  Round-trip Shuttle Train between mall area and archaeological site at Tulum, Free Wi-fi in certain areas of the Xel-Há park, Unlimited Food & Beverage at Xel-Há (buffet-style at 5 different restaurant options, includes UNLIMITED DOMESTIC ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, and non-alcoholic beverages as well), and access to bathrooms, showers, changing rooms, towels and lockers, as well as free Snorkeling Equipment and Inner Tubes at Xel-Há.

Physical Limitations:  This tour is not recommended for people with difficulties walking.
