Grand Prairie – November 17, 2016 – Pollock, based in Grand Prairie, TX, was recently recognized by ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, for its industry leadership and outstanding participation in ISSA’s Distributor Efficiency Analytics & Learning (DEAL) program. DEAL is a comprehensive program that uses ‘big data’ and educational sessions to help association members operate their buildings and vehicles more efficiently, reduce waste, conserve natural resources, and save money.
Collectively, ISSA’s members operate more than 5,000 buildings and 25,000 delivery trucks. By implementing more sustainable operating procedures, member companies could save an estimated US$21 million annually.
By employing the operating procedures the DEAL program identifies, the reduction in environmental impact is comparable to planting 2 million trees and allowing them to grow for 10 years, or removing 17,000 cars from the road. This is based on estimates provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR® and SmartWay® Transportation programs.
According to Tracy Evatt, (Chief Operating Officer) of Pollock, “We are committed to being industry leaders in protecting the health and safety of children, patients, office workers and others who use our clients’ buildings, as well as our community and the greater environment. This program has provided us the insight we need to help our customers and others in our industry truly make a difference.”
Pollock was selected as one of just 20 companies to participate in the pilot. The program aimed to identify the specific needs of small and medium-size companies, as well as the training and educational programs necessary to drive meaningful improvements.
According to ISSA Executive Director John Barrett, “Pollock embodies how our members can operate more efficiently, while at the same time being responsible stewards of natural resources and good community citizens. They are a great example of how a business can do well by doing good, and thanks to their work, we will be able to help thousands of small- and medium-sized businesses succeed.”
Based on the successes and lessons learned during the pilot, ISSA will now roll out the DEAL program to help its members improve their operations and financial performance.
