Passports are required.
See New Application/Renewal Info HERE (6-8 weeks process, normally)

*** IMPORTANT PASSPORT INFORMATION ***

For the purposes of this program, you must have a passport valid through your return date with at least 1 blank page empty- PLEASE CHECK YOURS!

According to the U.S. Passport website, as of June 2024, you can apply for routine service and expect to receive a USA passport in 6-8 weeks, so plan accordingly if you expect to go on the trip in October.

You also have the option of paying an additional $60 for expedited service to receive your passport in 2-3 weeks.  Remember:

  • It may take up to 2 weeks for applications to arrive at a passport agency or center. It may take up to 2 weeks for you to receive a completed passport after we print it.
  • Processing times + mailing times = total time to get a passport

These processing times apply to applications submitted by mail and in-person at an acceptance facility in your community. Most acceptance facilities such as post offices, clerks of court, and libraries are open and accepting passport applications, but they encourage you to apply by mail when possible because it is a safe, contactless option for certain services. It is suggested you submit your application via trackable mail, so you can track your application before it enters the system. Mail times vary across the country, so plan ahead and apply early.

You can download, fill out and print passport forms, check the status of your application, schedule an appointment at a passport agency and more online.  If you’re not eligible to renew your passport (info on the right), please go to the Apply in Person page to learn the steps for how to apply.  For more information, visit travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html.

*NOTE:  Air tickets will not be issued until you confirm your passport application/renewal (if applicable) has been received by the Passport office. Once tickets are issued, you will be responsible for the 1099 value even if you cannot travel due to your passport not arriving in time.  Apply immediately!

UNITED STATES CITIZENS TRAVELLING TO MEXICO:

  • WEATHER:  Pollock Orora is aware of a low-pressure development in the wider Caribbean area. The current predictions offer less than a 30% chance of development. The seven-day forecast for Costa Mujeres is showing rains each day but mainly overnight, as is typical this time of year.
**** We will keep you informed if there are any changes that might affect the trip.  Please contact Kristi Mirocha, our travel coordinator, with any concerns.
  • IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM MEXICO GOVERNMENT:  Previously, travelers bringing more than one portable computing device (e.g., laptop, tablet) were required to pay a 19% tax on additional items.

This regulation is no longer in effect, and passengers can now bring multiple personal devices without incurring any customs fees, effective immediately.
Note:  For now, this information applies only to Cancun International Airport (CUN) and Tulum Airport (TQO), until further notice.

  • On the day of your departure, arrive at the check in desk of your airport NO LESS than two hours prior to take off. The airlines ask for three hours for an international flight and we recommend you follow their request.
  • Passports are required and must be valid through your return date (October 23rd for most).
  • Your passport is also required to have at least one blank page inside to enter Mexico. In addition to your passport, please bring a copy of the picture/data page. Carry it with you, separate from the passport; do not place in checked bags.
  • A Tourist Card, FMM or Customs Form is no longer required to enter Mexico as long as you have a valid passport.
  • Please let us know immediately if you become ill or have any other emergency where you might need to cancel your trip.  You might be responsible for non-refundable/non-transferrable plane tickets, depending on notice of cancellations.

Before you leave the United States:

Returning from Mexico (before you arrive back in the United States):

  • As of  2022, air travelers are no longer required to show documentation of a negative viral test result taken within the flight’s departure to the United States before boarding. If this changes, we will advise you.

After travel:

  • Self-monitor for COVID-19; isolate and get tested if you develop symptoms.

We will, of course, give everyone more updated information once it becomes available!
